somatic healing

What I didn’t realize was missing…

For a long time, I taught happiness from the neck up.

  • Mindset.

  • Habits.

  • Thoughts.

  • Choices.

  • Behavior.

And I still believe in all of those things.

But lately, I've been realizing that there was a piece of the puzzle I didn't fully understand when I first began this work.

The body.

Through my own experience and my training in yoga and somatic practices, I've come to understand just how much our bodies carry.

Stress. Emotion. Protection. Patterns. Experiences we've moved past intellectually but that our bodies may still be holding onto.

Maybe you've experienced this, too.

➡ You can know you're okay, but your shoulders are still tight.

➡ You can decide to let something go, but your belly still feels clenched.

➡ You can understand exactly where a pattern came from, but somehow your nervous system hasn't gotten the memo.

I've certainly experienced this myself, and it has changed the way I think about wellbeing. Because I don't think we can create truly holistic wellbeing by working with the mind while ignoring the body.

The mind and body are constantly talking to each other.

So now, my work has expanded.

I still teach mindset.
I still teach happiness habits.
I still believe in conscious choice and the power we have to shape our lives.

But I also want to help people slow down enough to feel what's happening inside them.

  • To breathe.

  • To move.

  • To listen.

  • To release.

  • To reconnect.

Because sometimes the next step isn't another thing we need to understand.

Sometimes it's something we need to feel.

This is why I'm offering Release & Restore

On September 12, I'll be teaching a Release & Restore Somatic Workshop at Body Language Fitness & Yoga.

This isn't about forcing anything or digging up things you'd rather leave buried.

It's an invitation to gently reconnect with your body through somatic movement, breath, restorative yoga and awareness.

→ A little less thinking.

→ A little more listening.

→ A little space to let your body exhale.

And honestly, I think that's something many of us could use right now.

And if you're curious about this new direction I'm taking my work, I hope you'll come along for the ride.

I have a feeling there's a lot more to discover here.

With love,

Tamara

Where Does Unresolved Trauma Live?

Unresolved trauma doesn’t just live in your past.

It lives in your body.

It shows up as:

• That hip pain you’ve been dealing with for years
• The GI discomfort that no diet seems to fix
• The tight shoulders, the clenched jaw, the shallow breath
• The exhaustion… even when you’ve “done nothing”
• The short fuse that makes you think, “Where did that come from?”

Your body is not betraying you.

It’s communicating with you.

For so many women—especially the ones who are strong, capable, used to holding it all together—your body has been carrying what you haven’t had the space (or safety) to process.

And over time… it starts to speak louder.

Not to punish you.
But to get your attention.

Here’s the part that changes everything:

Healing doesn’t start in your head.
It starts by gently coming back into your body.

So what does that actually look like?

It looks like intentional, supportive movement that allows stored tension and emotion to rise up… and release.

It looks like slowing down—putting your phone away, stepping out of the noise—and giving yourself your own full attention again. Feet on the ground. Breath in your body. Letting the earth hold what you’re ready to let go of.

It looks like simple, loving mindset shifts and breath practices that help your nervous system finally exhale… so you can feel safe enough to soften.

And it looks like spaciousness.

Time to pause.
To reflect.
To rest.
To integrate what’s been living beneath the surface for so long.

This is the experience we create inside the Radiance Rising Retreat.

Not rushed.
Not overwhelming.
But deeply supportive, gentle… and real.

If your body has been whispering—or shouting—for your attention…

This is your invitation to listen.

And to give yourself something different.
